Toppling Pro-Gaza Congressman: Is AIPAC in Control of U.S. Congress?

“Israel” is the 51st U.S. state and Washington prioritizes its protection as part of defending its own interests over those of Americans.
Who Rules America? This age-old question has often been answered by the influence of the American Jewish Zionist lobby and the military-industrial complex, both of which “buy” politicians and governance to serve their interests.
It was once presumed that a change was or would be underway after a majority of Americans rose up against the Israeli Occupation, refusing support for massacres in Gaza. The upcoming generation, soon to govern, began to press forcefully for an uprising against those controlling America's decisions.
The primary congressional elections within the Democratic and Republican parties were a test for this anticipated shift, yielding mixed results.
The American Zionist lobby bloc targeted congressmen who supported Gaza and criticized Israeli genocide, flooding the elections with money to oust them, such as prominent Gaza-supporting congressman Jamaal Bowman, raising concerns: Is the Zionist lobby still ruling America?
Defamation
On June 26, 2024, the first test of this hope to diminish Zionist lobby influence occurred, as $15 million was injected into the 16th congressional district race to unseat Congressman Bowman. However, setbacks ensued.
Americans were unaccustomed to $15 million being spent on a primary election within a single party (Democratic) to nominate a congressman. This made it the most expensive primary election in House history, with Congressman Jamaal Bowman losing his seat to Zionist lobby-backed fellow Democrat George Latimer.
Millions poured into the race from within and outside the electoral district, by both the American Zionist lobby and Jewish Republican and Democratic billionaires, aiming to oust Congressman Bowman for his criticism of Israeli genocide in Gaza.
It became evident that the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) spent $15 million to tarnish Jamaal's reputation using all available means, including television, digital ads, and direct mail.
Through street campaigns and media platforms, they focused on portraying him as “pro-Hamas” and “rebellious” to bring him down.
Thus, the race between Bowman and his challenger saw the largest advertising spending in any House primary election history, shedding light on massive divisions within the Democratic Party over the Palestinian cause, according to CNBC on June 24, 2024.
Within just one month, AIPAC's major political action committee spent $14.5 million, equivalent to $17,000 per hour, as reported by The New York Times on June 24, 2024.
These “mountains of dollars” stacked by the Zionist lobby were warned against by Congressman Jamaal Bowman, underscoring the danger of AIPAC and its financiers from the far-right in toppling critics of Zionist Israeli Occupation and Gaza supporters before they are ousted in favor of lobby-backed candidates.
“We’re rising up against AIPAC and their right-wing billionaires. Every vote is going to count in ensuring that we defend the voice of the people!” Bowman said on X.
The same warning was echoed by Senator Bernie Sanders, cautioning Americans about Zionist money controlling U.S. congressional elections.
"We need leaders in Congress who stand against billionaires buying elections and who fight unapologetically for the working class,” U.S. Senator Bernie posted on X.
An intriguing aspect of the conflict involving Black congressman Jamaal Bowman and the Zionist lobby is that he was previously supportive of “Israel.” However, after visiting the West Bank and Jerusalem in 2021, he concluded that the Israeli Occupation state is a "racist apartheid state."
At that point, he realized the necessity to speak out about the Palestinian plight, even if it jeopardized his career, according to Politico.
Immense Influence
According to the Federal Election Commission, major donors to AIPAC, representing the Zionist lobby in America, are billionaires and millionaires, especially from the Republican Party.
“AIPAC has become a fundraising juggernaut in recent years, raising more money for candidates than any similar organization this cycle as part of its mission to back candidates who support Israel,” as reported by Politico on June 9, 2024.
That has made AIPAC the biggest source of Republican money flowing into competitive Democratic primaries this year, according to a Politico analysis of campaign finance data — and drawn outrage from the left over what it sees as GOP meddling in Democratic contests.
The recipients of these funds are either staunchly “pro-Israel Democrats” like Rep. Ritchie Torres and Rep. Josh Gottheimer, or leaders in Congress, including House Speaker Mike Johnson and Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries.
The analysis clarified that Republican donors focus their contributions on “Democrats who strongly support Israel" in districts where Republican prospects are weak.
This means a significant portion of the funds used to support specific Democratic candidates in primary elections comes from sources closely aligned with the Republican Party.
For example, Politico quoted Doug Forand, a strategist working with the campaign of George Latimer, as stating that “AIPAC donors are single-issue donors.”
This explains the frustration among progressive Democratic lawmakers (like Bowman) regarding the Republican Party's financial intervention in Democratic congressional elections.
Alarming Impact
Usamah Andrabi, spokesperson for Democrats for Justice, the group supporting Bowman, told the Huffington Post on June 25, 2024, that the Zionist lobby's spending has a chilling effect on democracy in America.
AIPAC's actions send a clear warning to Democratic Congress members, like Jamaal Bowman, that if they criticize Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu or the Israeli government, they will lose.
Following Bowman's defeat, AIPAC and other groups have now turned their attention to defeating Missouri Representative Cori Bush in the upcoming August 2024 primaries.
Now, following this defeat of Jamaal Bowman with billions of dollars from American Jews, waves of anger have swept across American social media, especially among youth who support progressives not controlled by the lobby.
According to observers, entire generations across America, including blacks and those outside traditional Zionist control, have become extremely angry with Zionists and Jews supporting “Israel.”
They affirm that AIPAC corrupts democracy in America through non-transparent and undemocratic ways of winning elections relying on money.
Some argue that President Joe Biden's retaliation will come in the November 2024 elections, which he is almost losing due to voter disengagement over his perceived complete surrender to Zionist interests and spending American funds on protecting the Israeli Occupation and its genocide in Gaza.
Democratic Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York told journalists after Jamaal Bowman's defeat that there needs to be a review of the role of AIPAC, highlighting its divisive role primarily funded by Republicans within the Democratic Party.
Subversive of Democracy
An analysis by The New York Times on June 25, 2024, drew five conclusions from Jamaal Bowman's loss, suggesting that attacks by AIPAC against him rallied a coordinated backlash tarnishing its image as a disruptor of democracy.
The analysis further explained that AIPAC, accused of intervening financially between Democratic members, reignited racial and class divisions among Democrats, despite their coalition retaining ideological support from diverse voter groups that helped defeat Trump and Republicans in 2020.
The race between Bowman (Black) and Latimer (White) exposed fractures within this coalition, likely negatively impacting the upcoming presidential elections and President Joe Biden.
AIPAC's influence wavered as Americans increasingly questioned traditional Jewish narratives, fearing a loss of control over American governance to Zionist interests.
Thus, AIPAC rang alarm bells and launched a massive campaign supporting pro-Israeli candidates for Congress according to NBC News.
This lobby particularly aims to unseat anti-occupation lawmakers dubbed "The Squad."
Key members include Ilhan Omar of Minnesota, Rashida Tlaib of Michigan, Ayanna Pressley of Massachusetts, Jamaal Bowman, and others.
The Zionist lobby pejoratively labels them "Gaza Squad" due to their opposition to Israeli aggression, allocating $100 million to defeat them in the 2024 elections as reported by Democracy Now! in January 2024.
Other U.S. estimates suggest AIPAC spends between $200 to $300 million annually to buy American politicians.
AIPAC boasts on its official site of supporting 365 Democratic and Republican candidates supportive of “Israel” in 2022 with over $17 million in direct contributions, ranking among the top 20 donors in the elections with substantial financial contributions.
It claimed a 98% success rate among AIPAC-backed candidates and contributed to the defeat of 13 candidates not supportive of “Israel.”
The Zionist lobby historically influences decisions in the White House and Congress, making “Israel” the 51st U.S. state, aligning America's defense with its own interests above American interests.
This manifested in the Gaza conflict through massive arms deals and the deployment of U.S. forces, warships, fleets, and spy planes to support the war against Palestinians.
John Mearsheimer, a political science professor at the University of Chicago, argues that the U.S.-”Israel” relationship isn't strategic or ethical but driven harshly by American Jewish lobby pressure, prioritizing Israeli interests over America's.
Mearsheimer warns U.S. policymakers that the Zionist entity harms U.S. interests and fosters global enmity due to its support for Israeli racial interests worldwide.
Senator Nasser M. Beydoun previously exposed how the lobby controls American politicians, revealing they offered him $20 million to run against Palestinian-American Representative Rashida Tlaib because they aimed to defeat her.
Glimpse of Hope
The defeat of Representative Jamaal Bowman does not signify a Zionist lobby victory in every battle against Gaza supporters and “Israel” critics.
On the same day as Bowman's defeat, his progressive colleague, Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York, from the “Squad,” won, alongside other lawmakers opposed to the Israeli invasion of Gaza and ongoing massacres.
Despite intense political mobilization and financial spending, lobby-backed candidates suffered losses. Muslim Representative Ilhan Omar and Somali-American Representative Summer Lee triumphed over their heavily funded lobby-supported competitors, despite facing lavish financial efforts to defeat them, described as "terrorism."
Similarly, Palestinian-American Representative Rashida Tlaib prevailed, despite vocal criticism of “Israel” provoking strong opposition from the lobby.
Members of the “Squad” are known for supporting policies such as diversity, social justice, and human rights. They often oppose militaristic policies and advocate for reforms in the economic and political systems.
These representatives wield significant influence in Congress and work to promote policies reflecting social justice values and economic progress. Some support Gaza and oppose the Israeli Occupation.
